Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission Introduces New Distributed PV Policy | Q-SUN Unlocks the Green Potential of Commercial and Industrial Rooftops

Jiangsu Province has issued its Distributed PV Development Plan (2026–2030), prioritizing industrial parks, rural communities, public buildings and transport infrastructure.

By 2030, Jiangsu aims to double its distributed PV capacity to 120 GW. New industrial buildings are expected to reserve all suitable rooftop space for PV, while existing facilities are encouraged to maximize rooftop solar deployment.

Unlock the Potential of Underutilized Rooftops and Reduce Business Energy Costs

For energy-intensive businesses, distributed PV turns idle rooftops, warehouses and carports into clean energy assets, reducing electricity costs through self-consumption and surplus power export.

Combined with energy storage, it enables peak shaving, demand management and backup power, while increasing solar self-consumption.

Traceable green electricity also supports green factory development, carbon management and compliance with global supply chain requirements.

3.2 MW Project Under Construction Demonstrates Q-SUN’s EPC Capabilities

Q-SUN is currently serving as the EPC contractor for the 3.2 MW distributed PV project at Nanjing Jinsheng.

The project makes full use of the rooftop space of the furniture commercial complex. Q-SUN is responsible for system design, equipment procurement, construction management, quality control, safety management, grid connection coordination and technical support throughout the project.

Once completed, the project will unlock the value of underutilized rooftop space, reduce overall energy costs and increase green electricity consumption, while demonstrating Q-SUN’s engineering, project coordination and delivery capabilities in large-scale commercial and industrial PV projects.

SUPERME Multi-Cut Modules Solve Real-World Power Generation Challenges in Distributed PV Systems

To support Jiangsu’s distributed PV development policy and address common challenges faced by conventional modules in complex rooftop environments—including shading losses, electrical mismatch and hot-spot risks—Q-SUN has launched SUPERME, its Physical 4-Core Multi-Cut Module.

During long-term operation, rooftop PV modules may be partially shaded by ventilation equipment, pipelines, surrounding buildings, dust or fallen leaves. Partial shading can reduce module output and cause sustained localized heating. In severe cases, hot spots may accelerate the degradation of cells, interconnect ribbons and encapsulation materials, potentially leading to insulation failure or material damage.

(Challenges of Conventional PV Module Systems)

SUPERME divides the module into smaller electrical units and incorporates four independently controlled zones with an adjustable current-routing design. When one zone is shaded, the impact is confined to a smaller area, while the remaining zones continue generating power normally, significantly reducing overall shading losses.

The multi-cut design also shortens current transmission paths, reducing internal losses and operating temperatures while delivering higher power output from limited rooftop space. With strong shading tolerance, high energy yield and enhanced safety, SUPERME helps commercial and industrial PV systems maximize rooftop utilization and achieve more stable, reliable long-term returns.
